Our Vision
The Nettle’s Guild members work together to engage with the social and ecological systems in which we live and love. We decolonize ourselves, our relationships with one another and the land through:
1. Recognizing and amplifying our solidarity with Earth.
2. Disturbing and disrupting systems of oppression and exploitation such as hierarchy, patriarchy, colonialism, capitalism, speciesism, white supremacy, institutionalism.
3. Healing and nourishing by building alternatives.
Be wild!
Our Mission
The Nettle’s Guild is a collective of workers and activists, who are deeply embedded in our communities. We are located on the unceded and occupied Traditional Territory of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish),Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We work in solidarity with marginalized peoples and ecological systems. We work directly with youth, women, LGBTQQTS and non-human creatures. We are allied with many justice movements including indigenous sovereignty, animal liberation, labour justice, climate justice, and food sovereignty. Our work is rooted in liberation permaculture and we achieve our vision through education, design, installation and community activism.
